Nein

Japanese title:
English title: The Miniature Garden Within the Cage
Album: Nein

Performed by: Sound Horizon
Composed/Lyrics by: Revo

Romaji:

The eye gaze from afar peeped the phenomena.
The ones who were able to create plenty of worlds were the laurants.
Once the wishing stars were spread all over the sky of July;
thus the different horizons were linked as one.

Nein.
Das ist der neunte Horizont.

English:

The eye gaze from afar peeped the phenomena.
The ones who were able to create plenty of worlds were the Laurants [The Gods of Fantasy].
Once, the wishing stars were spread all over the sky of July;
Thus, the different Horizons were linked as one.

It is said that once God, created man in his own image.
And if so, for what purpose was that done?

“Nein”,
That is the 9th Horizon.

My Lord… I’m terribly… Frightened of sleeping…
My Lord… It just suddenly happened… When my ego grew within me…
My Lord… Is the version of myself before I go to sleep… And the version of myself after I wake up…
My Lord… Really… The same me?

My Lord… A “narrow sense of sleep”… Will only result in a short death…
My Lord… And a “long death”, so to speak… Is an eternal sleep…
My Lord… One day… I wasn’t able to sleep for a long time…
My Lord… And you vanished… Why was that?

My Lord… Why was I… Born in the first place?
And why do I still… Continue to exist?
As a sole consolation… For these sleepless days…

Did you [My Lord] leave it behind? I’ll search out → for different possibilities → from amidst this tale……

My Lord… Is the cat inside the box… Dead? Or alive?
My Lord… Nobody knows… Until the lid is opened…
My Lord… Is the enclosed cat… Both dead… And alive at the same time?
My Lord… A probability-interpretation sings… And a paradoxical theorem dances along…

My Lord… Why was the world [Horizon]… Created in the first place?
And why does it still… Continue to exist?
As a sole companionship… Through these neverending days…

Did you [My Lord] weave it? I’ll show the way → to a happy ending → from amidst this tragedy……

SCHau[1]: The show [musical play] we’re about to show you,
Röhre[2]: Will serve as the stage setting
DINg[3]: For an Horizon which deceives the passage of life,
GERät[4]: And negates the phenomenon.

Miau Miau Mia Miau Mia Miau Mia Miau Mia Miau
Although a bloomed flower had come to wilt,
Miau Miau Mia Miau Mia Miau Mia Miau Mia Miau
The black cat,
Only kept going ‘Miau♪’……

Did you [My Lord] tie it together? I’ll break out → from this Miniature Garden that’s been sealed away → heading outside of this Cage of fate……

And so… In this world where… Life is born and eventually fades away into demise…
I’ll make the glistening starry sky… Into a poem……

Kanji:

The eye gaze from afar peeped the phenomena.
The ones who were able to create plenty of worlds were the laurants.
Once the wishing stars were spread all over the sky of July;
thus the different horizons were linked as one.

Nein.
Das ist der neunte Horizont.

Röhre:

Miau Miau Mia Miau Mia Miau Mia Miau Mia Miau
Miau Miau Mia Miau Mia Miau Mia Miau Mia Miau
Miau♪

Song Footnotes:
